OUR STORY

WELCOME TO THE LOBSTER TRAP LOUNGE
FRESH SEAFOOD, GREAT DRINKS, AND BETTER STORIES - BY THE WATER.
Originally opened in 1956 at Shaw’s Hotel (a National Historic Site of Canada), The Lobster Trap Lounge made history as the first licensed bar in PEI after Prohibition ended. Locals and hotel guests loved it for its relaxed vibe and lively atmosphere until it closed in 2005.
Now, it’s back—revived in 2024 at Port Charlottetown! We’ve brought the spirit of the original Lounge to life with an outdoor dining experience that includes creative “topless” Bootlegger and Prohibition-style drinks, fresh seafood with a twist, and stunning harbour views.
Join us on cruise ship days from May to October—or book us anytime for catered events, group parties, and special celebrations.
